There is no way (that I know of) to tell when you can trigger a snippet completion #2

This may be an Atom limitation or a configuration issue on my side, but although I can trigger snippet completions by tabbing (e.g. after typing for) there is no way to tell when such a completion can be done. That is, unless you know that there is a "for" snippet, there is no way to tell that you can tab after typing for to get a for snippet expanded for you.

This is an issue of atom. I don't know either if there is such a function. Please raise an issue/question at http://discuss.atom.io
