Second Draft #2

Open kiramwebster opened 4 years ago

kiramwebster commented 4 years ago

I have edited my code so it can be the same for everyone. Please let me know what else I must fix. Thank you!

mbutler808 commented 4 years ago

Hi @kiramwebster Kira, your script now runs without error. Do make sure that your script generates all output as specified in the assignment, and it should not go into the data folder. One question - the code looks remarkably similar to a classmates. Was this an individual effort? Marguerite

kiramwebster commented 4 years ago

Okay great! The outputs are just the csv and the pdf correct? So I’ll just upload those and then good to go?

Yes I did this alone. As you know I was done with my code almost a week ago and I’m pretty sure I was the first to upload it so I didn’t look at anyone else’s. We learned how to do the data frame storage by df[i] in biometry, and we’ve also been encouraged to use stack overflow when we have issues, so if other people have similar codes we’ve probably just been looking at the same notes and sites.

I’ll get the csv and pdf uploaded today! Thanks for the help! Kira

In this class you were encouraged to discover the rules of the code yourself and by studying the materials provided, and not by copying off of the internet. Thanks for the response. Marguerite

Hi Kira, I would have preferred that you stick to things you figured out yourself of from the Rboot.pdf provided as material for this class, as it went though many different ways of doing things which we practiced in class (including the data frame assignment method you used), but that's OK. Please make sure your script produces the output when run. Basically just make sure you follow all the instructions. Thanks, M

kiramwebster commented 4 years ago

Oh I’m sorry I just thought when we encountered an issue we were allowed to look for help online. I always consulted my notes and manuals for this class and biometry first, but when I got stuck I thought that is the point of all the online resources for r, to help you when you don’t know where to go. In my previous class that touched on r my teacher used to say you will never know everything about r so learning how to look for help is the most useful skill you’ll learn. I’m so sorry if I misunderstood. Let me know if there is anything I need to do to fix this.

I will fix my data folder and upload my documents today. Thank you! Kira

Okay thank you! I am fixing my code now, all I need is to upload my final code and my csv and pdf files correct? That is all I see on the instructions but I want to make sure I am not overlooking anything.

Thanks! Kira

Yes - and make sure these items are also generated when you run the script.
