Hi. is the extension still actively developed? Thank

ReDEnergy commented 3 years ago

Sadly, actively not for the moment because of an overlap with different projects more important for me, thus I got little time to consider adding new features to the addon for the moment. There are of course a lot of features that I still consider to add so the project is certainly not dead, and will never because for me is a critical part of the browser experience.

New features will be added... when? hard to tell, probably around the start of next year , or earlier, or when I something will really annoy me (like the fact that I can't group sessions into the same folder and I already have too many and I need to do something about it as fast as possible).

More info: The addon has some issues and a lot of missing features but the core part of it works properly I would say, so I had to pospone new features in order to dedicate more time for other projects. Full-time job + life + part-time indie game dev not really easy, so the project slipped a little down on my priorities list. As much as I love this project and is extremely important to me can't really dedicate time for it... and it's been like that for a while sadly.

That being said... most important features that I consider adding are described in #40.

P.S Not that it matters but a little more context: Been working on an RPG indie game for the last 3.5 years (Zoria: Age of Shattering). I'm close to finish it (6 months or so) so basically that's the reason this addons does not get my full attention because every single bit of free time I have I need to invest it into that project. After I finish it... I will certainly be able to add more features to the addon as well.

I understand you and unfortunately I cannot help you. So best luck and I hope to see a future for this great extension.

@ReDEnergy Do you still accept / review PRs ?

Yes and no. Mostly a maybe yes, and only for some specific features that are implemented well and at the same time target a large audience. The main problem is that I have a clear idea how to evolve the project and what needs to be improved/changed but no time to do so. Whatever is added by someone else may create issues with the way I want to improve it further, and that's why I think it can be a little bit difficult to have new features added by someone one without a clear idea of how they should be integrated into the exiting source code. As for small chances that may benefit only a few users I sincerely suggest to fork the project and build whatever you need on top of what it is right now. It's really easy to sign it and install it for your own usage.
