According to the documentation, Binwalk is only experimental on Windows: https://github.com/ReFirmLabs/binwalk/wiki/Frequently-Asked-Questions#does-binwalk-work-on-windows https://github.com/ReFirmLabs/binwalk/wiki/Supported-Platforms

The following walk throughs explain step by step how to install Binwalk on Windows with Python: https://blog.eldernode.com/install-and-use-binwalk-on-windows/ https://www.programmersought.com/article/41716783913/

You could also try running Binwalk from Cygwin on Windows instead: https://github.com/ReFirmLabs/binwalk/wiki/Supported-Platforms https://www.cygwin.com/

But, arguably the best option for running Binwalk on Windows is to use the Binwalk docker image on Windows: https://hub.docker.com/r/refirmlabs/binwalk

I hope that helps!
