Ok, thanks for the explanation. Let's wait and see.

@rougier @pdebuyl @oliviaguest The good news: this article (zenodo.3956058 = ReScience C 6, 1 (2020) #11) is accepted in ArXiv: it's https://arxiv.org/abs/2008.07380 . The bad news: we don't get any explanation for the three week delay, and can only speculate on a mix of northern temperate zone holidays, the pandemic, and the innovative nature of ReScience C that presumably required discussion on what categories to choose for the article. The moderators for the proposed categories presumably had to negotiate and see if moderators from other categories would accept the article.

As a guideline for future ReScience C ArXiv submissions, the info we have in this case is:

I see that I did suggest both cs.CY and cs.SE as possible classifications at https://github.com/ReScience/ten-years/issues/2 . So others intending to ArXiv their papers should probably try cs.CY and cs.SE directly, and that way avoid a delay during which moderators reclassify their article.

@pdebuyl Since this paper is now published, can we close this issue?

pdebuyl commented 4 years ago

Yes we can :-) Thanks @broukema for the feedback on the arxiv deposition!

@pdebuyl And thanks for being on the ReScience C team! ;)
