Application

GBox https://GBoxlab.com

Issue

The Google Play Store is hidden in GBox, there is a GPlayServices and Play Store but Huawei wanted to promote Huawei App Gallery so they hide it.

The don't app have Ad Banner or Video Ads but it is filled with Recommended Apps which is basically its form of Advertising. Screenshot_20230522_021003_com gbox androie

It may seem like not too much but the recommended apps is more than 250.

Patch

I have tried to make a shortcut using Shorcut Maker but it doesn't work since it is a virtual space so for you to open playstore you have to open a browser that allows external apps then go to "play.google.com" to open PlayStore.

Currently what I did is I created an app using Tasker App Factory which Opens "play.google.com". I cloned that to Gbox and it Opens the Play Store just fine.

Motivation

1) GBox have Google Play Services so most apps should work in there but the problem is, It is purposely hiding the Play Store to force the use of Huawei App Gallery. Huawei App Gallery doesn't have most apps.

2) Hassle, If you want to add an app you need to install it first in the device then clone it. But, if you install an app in Play Store(inside GBox) the app would be installed in GBox without the need to install it to clone it.

3) Removing the Recommended Apps would make the app smoother since it wouldn't need to load a bunch of links and Logos every single time you open the app. I am talking about more than 250 app logos every startup.
