You can use a tool like GCFScape to open pak01_dir.vpk in the reactivedrop folder:

And then use a tool like VTFEdit to see the texture:

thank you. That helps a lot.

But another problem is, one word in English may have different meanings in chinese. It would be better to know the exact context before translating. For example, "mind your step" would translate literally "注意脚步"(becareful When you are walking), but in reality, we do not write like that, Instead, we use two terms: "小心台阶" (becareful When you walk up/down stairs) ,and "谨防摔落" (becareful not to fall off). I have to see the exact sign location to choose a proper translation.

These textures will be reused at some point, and they will be reused for different purposes, so it's important to stay vague about what they're warning of. Don't get me wrong, some entries could need a comment (eg. What are "Frames"? In which context?), but the info where they are placed exactly won't be that helpful.

Frames are related to Portal sentry manufactoring as Ben said. I translated it as carcass or skeleton of robot

Wherever he said that, this is a good example for one more needed comment, to help future translators.

I added a comment including an texture preview page in the wiki

@Deerlord0 you might be interested in this, I saw in the progress report that this and some vgui strings are the only things your translation is missing :)

@Blueberryy are the japanese vgui strings something you could help filling up?

Honestly, I couldn't understand most part of vgui strings :3 I think Japanese players never use map editor so the file don't need to be translated. If Japanese mapper appears, such a person can understand UI in English.

About singage, They looks not cool if translated. People would complain if many signs with Japanese word appeared in old Alien movie. Gonna remove indents if its ok to leave them untranslated.

Duke-M-commits commented 7 months ago

If you intentionally want to leave something untranslated, unindenting (instead of leaving it untended) is the translators intended way to go :)
