Can we consider moving the CI to github actions ? I see several potentials benefits to this:

The support of macos and windows seems better than on travis (to confirm however)
it would allow publishing releases automatically on pypi with an API token. This does not work on travis, cf https://github.com/pypa/warehouse/issues/6355

The drawback is that CIs become specific to github so any fork on another git host will not have CIs available.
