Fix a load of things #2

There are a load of problems using this module in the more recent versions of react-native. This PR should fix them for versions < 0.25. Fixes:

Note: Reasons tests are failing is that CircleCI isnt configured with any tests, so throws an error

will this fix get bumped into npm?

oh damn, I'd been using my fork for so long I'd not noticed it hadnt been pushed.

@Durgaprasad-Budhwani please bump up to npm asap.
