Hi,

I installed FiltaQuilla a few months ago, in order to filter SPAM that I received that consists in emails having several time the same URL in them.

I configured a filter with something like "(https://[^ ]).(\1).(\1)" (). It worked like a charm for some time (Thanks for the extension!)

However, then I upgraded from Ubuntu 24.04 to 24.10, but since I disable snap, I installed ThB from official mozilla PPA. Now when I start ThB, it just freezes... Apart if I disable FiltaQuilla.

How can I help you debug that one ?

(*) (I cannot access the exact filter anymore or debug your extension as explained on your website since ThB now Freezes)

Is it possible that Ubuntu updated Thunderbird to the latest version (v128) from a previous one? Check if you see anything under Tools >> Activity manager when you start up, maybe it is still trying to sync or rebuild the global database (indexing folders).

If you filter a regex body (or anything that tries to read body parts) try to run filter after junk controls to hopefully make sure that the messages have been fully downloaded. If there is a general performance problem after updating Thunderbird to a new ESR sometimes it's a good idea to make a new profile and then import the old accounts it's often a big performance boost, and I know Thunderbird employees who do this every year to keep their profiles fresh.

Hi,

Thanks for your quick answer.

As I said, I'm not using Ubuntu's version (snap), but the official Mozilla's PPA's ( 115.16.0esr (64-bit). )

Unfortunately, opening ThB with FiltaQuilla activated directly freezes ThB, so I cannot try what you are suggesting :(

If I deactivate FiltaQuilla (and not all the other addons I have installed), everything works fine, so it is probably not a problem of indexing from ThB's part...
