Dedicated Toolbar buttons for Message Filters / Run filters missing in Supernova (Tb 115) #196

Before this latest version there was an icon/button that would make the Message Filters window appear, but now the only way to get to it requires "drop down - tools - message filters" to make it appear. I'm guessing this is part of the new interface issue, but if not - is there an option I'm missing? The only icon that appears when I click "customize toolbar" is the QF drop down.

We are only allowed one single button on the new unified toolbar (either a pushbutton for a single action or a dropdown), so there is nothing I can do about this right now. However I have applied for the API to be extended to allow multiple buttons. By Workaround: install QuickFolders and you can get the button in the center of the screen:

1 - Install QuickFolders 2 - open quickFilters settings, Advanced 3 - Under QF Current Folder Toolbar, Enable "Dplsiay Filters List":

and there it is:

OK - well, that should work in the meantime (and went ahead and signed up for standard license anyway)

If you can figure out a way to add it to your existing filter toolbar - that would be ideal.

That's not my bar, it just happens to sound similar to my add-on "quick filter bar". Like I said, in Thunderbird 115, we are only allowed 1 single toolbar button on the unified toolbar. We can also add 1 single button to the header bar on top of the mail preview - I use that for my Add-on SmartTemplates:

By the way, just asking myself why you need to open the filters list so often, I had a request to have the "toggle toolbar assistant" button turned back into a single push button at #192 (which I can understand as I use it more often than opening the list of filters). If you help me to understand your workflow better maybe I can find alternative solutions.

I have a lot of filters going to lots of different folders and I find myself going back to that list a lot to see why certain e-mails aren't filtering or winding up in the wrong folder.

I connect to two g-mail accounts via IMAP and searching from within Thunderbird is not the easiest, but if I know where to look then it works. Also, on the mobile app - there's just too much in the inbox to reasonably sort - so having Thunderbird running at home while I'm AFK - helps on that front. Often times, I just find myself going to the webmail interface to search - which I don't like doing (because I prefer my browser session to not be logged into Google).

Hope that makes sense. Thanks!

Do you happen to click on the "log" button once you're in the window? Because how about we add that directly to the menu? It would save you a click and could jump to the log for the current server / account. At least it should help for the case of "winding up in the wrong folder".

Haha - well, now that would probably be ok - except for ... #198 :-)

Ok I have added #207 for that - would be a happy if you could comment there on the two choices I offer.
