When copying an email during assistant, "Copy to Folder" should be set + populated #77

When copying an email while the quickFilters assistant is active I would expect the resulting filter action to be "copy to - target folder" and not "move to - target folder". Unfortunately when the user changes the search term from "move" to "copy" the auto-filled path within filter editor is reset causing a lot of extra work.

Therefore I propose to select "copy to folder" instead of "move" if the email was copied.

For some reason the action (copy) was overwritten to (move) - for the benefit of merging. I believe this may have been in error - new test version below:

quickFilters-wx-5.3.3pre20.zip

to install this version, download the zip file and drag it (don;t unpack) into Thunderbird Add-ons Manager.

Implemented in 5.4 released today

Tested 5.4 today against Thunderbird 91.7 on windows 10.

Copying a message still prompts with move not copy.

Tested 5.4 today against Thunderbird 91.7 on windows 10. Copying a message still prompts with move not copy.

Can you please add detail on the following points:

  • how do you copy the message (drag with CTRL, where to or via a context menu or some other means such 3rd party ADd-ons such as QuickFolders with quickMove or nostalgy)?
  • which template do you choose on the assistant?

still waiting for an answer from @szmontsaroff - what method do you use for copying the message(s) ?
