Hi Nik,

how about this: Open Source Entrepeneurship and the OWL, Building an online community of musicians and coders around an embedded audio device

I'd like to talk about how we're integrating the hardware experience with our online community, using Web Audio to run patches in the browser and Web MIDI to control the device, and how we're extending the hardware with visual, interactive virtual interfaces. And, if there's interest, a bit about crowdfunding and open hardware, and how you can leverage new business models to create your own opportunities. I'll bring some sort of demo setup, probably a small modular synth.

let me know what you think, best,

Martin

Hi Martin,

That sounds fine, 13/10 shouldn't be a problem.

That's great. It would be best if we announce it as soon as possible.

What is the typical audience at these meetings - audio professionals,
students, academics..?

I'd say that we usually have a bit of all - audio professionals, students, academics.

How about I come up with a topic and summary, then you can let me know if
it is suitable or not.

This will work. But don't worry about a long summary. Initially we will need just a very short one just so that we can approve it as a lecture. Than we can add a slightly longer one on the website, post it on Facebook and include a note about in the newsletter. In fact, if you could manage this before the end of the month, we can announce it already in the upcoming September newsletter (which should go out on the 1st). But in case you are too busy, don't worry too much about it.

Best, Nik
