So for this we have to use the KA Lite Hub at learningequality.org and can't have a custom install in place as may be the requirement by some client?

I hope additional authentication requirements do not throw up the next need for central authentication and/or SSO at schools. :)

Will revert further after testing what's already integrated.

intelliant01 commented 7 years ago

Upon last testing, kalite was not auto-starting upon MSS bootup. It required manual start via - # sudo systemctl start ka-lite

This is despite having executed - # sudo systemctl enable ka-lite

It may be an upstream bug and this needs to be fixed.

ka-lite started upon server start yesterday.

Seems some fix was rolled out and I may have applied it unknowingly along with other updates.

Needs 100G /recovery partition

intelliant01 commented 7 years ago

Currently /recovery partition on 1 TB MSS is 99 or 100 GB but it is not desirable or compelling as yet to include this in the restore partition. Rather going forward I shall make it configurable as to what may be auto backed up for restoration and what not.

cyberorg commented 7 years ago

By default kalite will not be backed up, if backup is desired, it needs lot more than 100G /recovery partition.

What may/may not be backed up is configured in /home/mss/xyz, see kalite for example.
