Clean-up worker, sanitize input and enhance logging

After MVP rush, let's circle back and clean-up the mess I've made:

• Sanitize input for the worker: If we receive irrelevant data, do not raise an exception, instead rather fail gracefully with a log message.
• suppress sklearn warnings about implicit conversions, which just clutter logs
