There is no real chance to build diodon-plugins on Ubuntu 20.04 lts. Following all issues and having installed valac and xvbf,diodon-dev gir1.2-diodon-1.0 installation comes up with some lib error. What is the dev depending on to be installed?
Even c_bgxlc complier is not recognised after xvbf installation.
Hence, start building anything isn't really worth.
