Black levels in intro video are faded #14

First off really enjoying the theme! Enjoying it so much that the only problem that I have with it is a very specific nitpick.

I customized my intro video (link below) however the blacks in the video seem really faded and grey. When I play the same video with another player like VLC or windows media player the blacks look normal and much darker. Do you have any ideas on the fix? I think it might have to do with w/e method that is playing the videos having limitations? Thank you in advance.

Here is a link to the video I am using: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xAAKiJ_e32b8AOSbL83eFQbR3yDw6jLL/view?usp=drive_link

I was able to find a "fix" but it has nothing to do with playnite.

Open NVIDIA Control Panel and select "Adjust video color settings". Tick the "With the NVIDIA settings" and select gamma and set to 0.99. Save.

*this will effect all video players.

AMD cards should have a similar setup.

Thanks for this!

Will this affect the colors of everything? Or somehow just the blacks?

This will only effect videos.

It will slightly drop the black levels to all videos played through a local media players. Youtube/Netflix and other streamed content will not be effected.

This change is extremely minor and you shouldn't notice any difference in standard content.

Returning with some good news, I was able to fix the issue.

Turns out in the Nvidia control panel, the video color settings was set to limited. Once I changed it to full range, the blacks are super deep again. Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction. Even with the gamma set back to 1.0 its looking like true blacks.

Happy camper now. Have a good one!
