6.20 Nightly ace1e17d5cdf Dayviewer broken #136

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Download and install dayviewer (vsh.txt, ms0/seplugins/dayviewer.prx)
2. Run PSP
3. The PSP will freeze on a black screen then crash.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Displaying what DayViewer does. Instead, I have a crash on boot.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

6.20 PRO-B8 nightly (ace1e17d5cdf).

Please provide any additional information below.

Will work on the issue and try to identify what changes broke that support.

Check if you aren't using strange symbols, like Japanese characters since they
make DayViewer to crash, otherwise it's a cfw problem.

@op and clouddar

I have dayviewer running and its fine.
You probably have the unpatched or TOcean's version(his version crashed on
mine).

look for a better port coz mine is fine, no problem whatsoever.
Oh and its never pro's bug if a plugin does not work... its the author/maker of
the plugin(TN is the author of dayviewer).

I use TN's version of Dayviewer v7 (Not the ported versions for 6.3x by Neur0n)
for 6.20 PRO-B8 Permanent and it works fine. You may add your dayviewer.prx on
attachment to check if we can reproduce the problems.

My mistake: I was not using a patched version of DayViewer.
I replaced the prx with a patched one and everything is working fine.
@2: a CFW can bug a plugin obviously, matter of NIDS...

@5

Yes and No...

Coz that plugin wasn't written originally for 6.XX but for 5.XX...

and yeah Some of the Nids back in 5.XX were missing in 6.XX so PRO had to clone
some of the NIDS for some plugins to work for 6.XX even though they were not
written originally for 6.XX.

So at the end of the day the owner of the plugin should update it to the recent
CFW.
And its great you've got it to work.

Please use the version designed for the 6.xx fw.
