rejecting a candidate for any reason is subjective and is an employer's right but the "silent treatment" is inexcusable. no company or person needs to treat another like that.
Well, I agree -- however it turns out it is the norm in Turkey. One reason is, people are extremely averse to delivering bad news. Another (worse) reason is, they simply do not care.
Back in 2001, fresh out of MIT with my PhD in Physics, I was rejected by Arthur Andersen on grounds that I was not "smooth enough". Siemens gave me the "silent treatment" after one interview. Got rejected by a couple more local software houses around the same time. Eventually did a lot of different things in life, including teaching, entrepreneurship, working for Google for a while, and now doing true consulting (as opposed to called-consultant-but-is-contractor) work.
