FanControl randomly not responding to any input #51

Hi~ Recently with new driver (24.6.1, kernel 32.xxx) I started noticing that sometime the control applied by FanControl is failing and my fan wont spin. After I check, in Adrenalin software, the fan is stuck at 0% even though the hotspot can go above 100C. Here is an example of the adrenalin graph when it starts not responding input from FanControl image

I can't change any point of the graph and the only workaround I found is to disable the control in FanControl and then turn off the advanced settings for fan config in the adrenalin, then the fan starts running again.

Any logs?

There doesn't seem to be any logs in the error logs

Same problem here. Fan curve in Adrenalin all at 0 rpm. Wouldn't have known until I see that the GPU went up to 100C.

Had set the curve in Adrenalin and had always turn off the control for GPU fan in Fan Control. But on reboot the curve in Adrenalin flattens to all 0 rpm.

Same question mark percentage at fan control card.

Nothing new in error log.

Try disabling ADLX plugin entirely (remove linked sensors from custom sensors/curves first to prevent errors) and see if the bug disappears @iron2000

Just had a game running. Had both Fan Control and Adrenalin open. Adrenalin switched to Default config by itself. As I close Fan Control, Adrenalin changed to Custom config and the fan curve came back.

@bagusnl No errors for now, will monitor the situation. Actually I rather have something in the error log to help pinpoint the problem.

Keep in mind that both the plugin and ADLX play with the same dial and switches, but both don't see what each other is doing really. If you use the plugin, you must not fiddle with ADLX performance/cooling settings.

Noted, though I did not use the built in plugin to control anything regarding my gpu when the bug happened. I just tried it a few days ago and now relearning that the built in plugin can't control the fan like at all
