Here it is, but I think I've found the problem. When waking up from sleep, sometimes the CPU fan reading from my motherboard just... goes away. Totally missing. It's not there in either HWMonitor or HWiNFO. But if I reboot, there it is again. So it seems like it isn't anything to do with FanControl.
@TrickyWidget If you happen to have a solution for this issue, please post it here as well. I had same issue as you, i.e. fan sensors disappear from HWMonitor after waking up from sleep. My fan curves in the bios were also rendered ineffective. Restarting was the only way to reset the sensors. However, I was using a non-mainstream board from Galax, so the bios was a little rough. A/S thought that there were an issue with my RAM, but I highly doubted it.
I also think that this it is not related to FanControl, This seems to be a very rare issue, and combing through internet does not provide any solution.
My fan controls intermittently stop responding to curves after waking from sleep. The temperatures are still reported, the curves still update, and the percentage of speed on the controls is correct, but the fans just stop spinning. (The RPMs are correctly reported as 0.)
If I set a control to manual, the fan will spin up correctly. But as soon as I set it back to the curve, it dies again.
It happens with all types of curves, including if I create a new one when it's broken.
This happens with both the CPU and Nvidia controls.
Exiting and restarting FanControl doesn't help. I have to reboot the computer to get it work again.
It seems to happen maybe 30% of the time when waking, but I haven't seen any specific pattern.
