Here is the reasoning. The software takes like 0 to 0.5% CPU. Even if it has higher priority, it's not much in the first place. If you max out (100%) your CPU with an other program, FanControl might not get any CPU time, and not be able to change your fans as the temperature rise, because of that max load.
ah kay understood
Hi - first of all - thanks ! I discovered your software some time ago but I really started using it this year. It's a great piece of interface for fan management! Love it. No brainer for donation!!! As for priority - I'm with @leteaaDEV on this one. I fully understand your argument. But ;=P I did some testing and even with hardcore 100% loads and FanControl below normal it works just fine for me. Obviously there is some delay in reaction but WC like in my case there so much thermal mass that there is no risk / performance impact. For loads that freeze my system, that take all IO (like some mem tests) from my testing it does not really matter if it's below or above normal priority - it's frozen anyway ;[.
I would love to see this as least as an option in some config file. thx !
ps. I have one interesting suggestion about interface - do you have a place to post suggestions ?
Hey this isnt a bug report!
Would be great to get a change in the default windows priority from "Above normal" to "Below normal" dosnt rly make sense to give it a higher prio in windows beside of eating Performance :/
otherwise, great app love it using it since 2 years 💯
