This caused my PC to forcefully power off.
Some motherboards really don't like having fans stopped and will force shutdown by precaution. Simply skip that step, or do it manually.
Ah I see, appreciate the response.
Describe the bug For some reason when I booted my PC today I noticed that all of my fans were running at minimum speed.
Looking in FanControl I could see that none of my controls were enabled, nor did they have Fan curves associated with them. The fans themselves also seem to have lost their nicknames.
Assumed it was something funky with the configuration so I decided to start from scratch and clicked "Pair controls and speeds automatically...". This caused my PC to forcefully power off.
Is there a log.txt file next to FanControl.exe with recent date entries? No recent entries.
Relevant hardware specs and setup Old config file (v143) from FanControl root: Tom.json Recent config file (v179) from "Configurations" folder: Tom.json
