Same here.
I updated windows last night, the pc shut down now Fan Control and Core Temp do not work anymore.
No sensors and fan are detected except for the Gpu one and the curves from my saved config. Other fans or fan headers are not recognized.
HWInfo works ok but the HWInfo plugin for Fan Control does not work so no sensors are detected with it either.
Core Temp does say: Currently loaded driver is out of date. Core Temp will not continue.
Both Core Temp, HWInfo and Fan Control are at their latest versions
My config/hardware specs are: Windows 10 Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX 1.0 itx motherboard Ryzen 5900x 7900xtx 3 Fans connected to the 3 motherboard fan pins.
There were 4 windows 10 updates installed on the 1st of June. 3 of them I uninstalled and did not fixed the problem. The 4th one is the Servicing Pack 10.0.19041.4351 update and can't be uninstalled
Update 1: After 3 days of doing restarts and trying different versions of the portable FanControl I tried this: Reinstalled the windows updates I uninstalled. Core Temp was fixed. I reinstalled FanControl while having the portable version unziped on my pc as well. Restarted the PC. Fan Control still not working, Uninstalled FanControl but left the portable version alone. Restarted the PC and now the portable version works ok. Fans were detected. I just needed to reset the curves for each of them.
Update 2: After doing what I did in update 1 from above, it works for like an hour. I opened Fan Control from the task bar to change the curve for some fans and the fans were not there. They are again undetected. Fan Control lost connection to the fans just by sitting in the background. Maybe a refresh made it to lose connection to the fans. I'll try another restart and will update you if it works or not.
Update 3. After 3 consecutive restarts the fans are detected again and all is ok but if you try to do a refresh of the sensors the fans will be lost again. At nights most of the time I put my pc to sleep. I rarely shut down. I'll see tomorrow after waking up the pc from sleep if the fans remain detected.
Update 4: After an hour Fan Control got messed up again while running in the background and looked like this:
I tried a refresh sensors detection but no fans are detected:
Update 5: Same issue after waking up the pc from sleep. No sensors, no fans.
I'm also having this issue, every other update seems to mess up my config for some reason. I updated and all of my sensors got unlinked (all of the names are gone):
If I load an old backup in, it works fine though 🤷
Same here, for the second time in the last weeks. :-( Downloaded latest release again and just copied the configuration folder. Now it works finde again.
Having the same or similar Issue. All motherboard fans and the CPU fan are gone and cannot be found, even when installing from scratch. I tried going back several versions, but no luck. Might be caused by a windows update. 🤷♂️
Update: Got all fans back after yet another windows update / reboot using the latest version of FanControl. Not sure if I just needed to reboot windows after uninstalling and re-installing FanControl.
Same issue here. Just started up the computer (win11pro w/ latest updates) and got a bunch of these missing sensor error messages. The only sensors left are CPU, my SSDs and GPU. Everything else is gone.
MoBo: MSI X570S Tomahawk Max WiFi
Happend again today :( Downloaded fresh again and copied the configuration folder. Works
BTW the V192 exe is not signed...
Push...happend again today
@Wackeljupp what delay do you got for startup in the settings page. If it's low, increase it to at least 30 sec.
@Rem0o thx for your reply. It it/was on 30 sec. I'll raise it to 60 an give it a try
Is it possible that the startup delay is not stored? set it to 180 seconds but it is on 30 again.
The startup delay is stored/retrieved in the Windows Task Scheduler's task directly.
Describe the bug So at first I couldn't edit any graphs but everything else was working. So I decided to restart and now I have no controls, nothing. Just my gpu fans for some reason
Is there a log.txt file next to FanControl.exe with recent date entries? No there isn't.
