Describe the bug
Recently, (past few months) I have noticed my fans running at much higher rpms than usual. I checked Fan Control today and have a ? mark next to the fan speeds. I tried to use Manual and Force mode to control the fan speeds for my CPU header, but none of that works. It is running at 100%. Nothing on my side has changed other than Fan Control updates.
I do have my fans set to 100% in my Bios as a fixed rpm (it has been this way since initial setup years ago). The reason is I have a Custom loop and want my system to default to 100% on everything for boot or if there is an issue (like this one). Also, my CPU header is connected to a powered fan splitter that is controlling all of my Case fans... they are all matching fans so this has never been an issue.
I also have controls on Fan control for my Water pump and my VRM Fan. These 2 items ARE working as they are suppose to. No question mark, manual control works on them, and they are also setup the same way as my CPU fans inside the Bios.
It seems like something has changed and Fan Control is no longer the authoritative source for cpu fan speeds.
