Auto curve running very odd #2745

Hey all, Ive been noticing oddly high CPU Temperatures, which is wild because it rarely went over 40C at idle. I believe after the most recent update something about the Auto function changed drastically or its a bug. I am attaching screenshots. Best I can describe this is that it feels like the Auto function goes to "sleep". In the pictures, it shows the current temp close to the load temp and spitting out idle % speeds. I would say this thing happens in about 50 sec ish and resets itself when any setting is altered but goes back to "sleep" right after. To show this I created a twin of my CPU Auto curve with the same settings.

One of the configurations is "asleep" while the newly created one is normal

altered the setting "waking" it up

persisting for a few moments

after running the CPU manually for a couple seconds

different settings "sleeping"

Am I just not understanding how Auto works? using bad settings?

I am not sure how much my specs are explicitly relevant as the temperature readings are fine. But here they go:

That's how auto works.

See https://getfancontrol.com/docs/

"finding the minimum fan speed required to hold a steady load temperature."

Basically if the temperature is stable and under the set load temp, it will decrease until it detects an up trend. If the temp never increases, it will bottom out to the set idle fan speed.

If you want to increase the range which is considered "load", increase the deadband to 5-7 degrees.
