Fan Control Stops with Windows Screen Turnoff setting #2747

V204 Win11 ASUS MB with Intel Gen 12 CPU and Radeon RX 580.

As soon as screen shuts off automatically under screen and sleep options all Fans go to about 50%. Wake up screen and all goes back to normal fan control under settings.

Removed any control of GPU in Fan Control and no joy, Adrenaline Software is controlling GPU fan speed just fine.

Not sure what else to check? Thanks,

NOT using any sleep or hibernate modes.

There is no event on screen turn off for fancontrol. Does the program crashes/exit or does it stay opened?

Is it possible you have some load in the background like folding@home or something as your computer idles and screen turns off?

Program runs fine and no crashes when screen comes back on. (Update) Problem seems to be related only to CPU Package Temp configuration. MB Temp and GPU Temp Fans are not affected. I put all case fans on MB and only the CPU fan speeds up now on screen close.

No programs running in background that have any significant load. I cannot think of any background programs I have that would create more load after screen turns off.
