• I've worked on pair programming with Rene to set up our login authentication for Google login and email login/account creation with Firebase. Additionally, I worked on setting up the back-end and front-end resolvers and reducers for the User schema to create users in our database as well as enabling users to edit their information
• For the next sprint, we will be working towards our standard requirements such as adding a summary page (View), finalizing our stretch goals, their UI designs, and developing them, as well as fixing remaining bugs before our final presentation
• Over the past sprint we encountered issues developing our matching algorithm to assess the job posting against our student database as well as some miscommunication with the team regarding acceptance criteria which required us to have check ins regularly

LAST SPRINT:

• paired program with @tommytwm to create sign in/ sign up authentication via email and Google, using Firebase as a backend service.
• setting up the user resolvers
• made a script that creates student-objects. The script utilizes survey data to build student objects with realistic attributes
• pulling in user content into the profile page, with user data sourced proximally from the store, ultimately originating from the mongodb database
• other front-end/ UI tasks (e.g. resolving uncheck persistence for attributes, masking inputted password)

NEXT SPRINT:

• will be refining the feedback page to give recruiters more actionable information. Towards this end, will be modifying the matching algorithm so that it can provide more disaggregated data.
• assisting fixing remaining bugs and gaps in the standard goals, conceiving and implementation of stretch goals

CHALLENGES:

• because of how interconnected some parts of our project is, we've had to do a little backtracking to ensure harmonized object labelling, structure, etc. This has resulted in some re-work; however, a degree of this is expected with a project that has this many moving pieces.

THIS SPRINT:

• Extended the Feedback component to make use of real data, had to accommodate a get-request from the database, and modify key matching and filtering so it displayed that real data
• Worked on the Profile page, and with the help of tommytwn, styling was fixed on the page
• Worked on the View page, setting up the basic outline

NEXT SPRINT:

• Will be enhancing the matchesReducer to allow for real-time dynamic feedback on the click of a button
• Will add in a back-end connection, so matches are stored in the database
• Will take on other user stories and bug fixes and so on

CHALLENGES:

• Had to do some bug-fixes related to usage of object-keys, and making sure we were consistent.

LAST SPRINT:

• installed and setup connection to MongoDB using Mongoose ODM.
• set up connection between express and MongoDB
• Developed mongoose schema's, created and tested CRUD API endpoints for Job Posting Data and Student Data.
• connected backend routes to front-end using Redux
• gave tutorial walk through on setting up connection to DB with Mongoose, and connecting to Express and Redux.
• Set up form validation for Create pages.
• Completed work on developing backend data flow diagram for team to utilize alongside Aleem.
• Worked on creating Registered Keys component and setting up functionality.

NEXT SPRINT:

For the next sprint I will be utilizing D3.js to develop an interactive visualization for the Create pages. I will assist on implementing new component pages and refining the application.

CHALLENGES:

bug fixes with styling issues on various pages.
