RensAlthuis / vertical-overview

Gnome has had vertically stacked workspaces for a long time. The Gnome 40 update unfortunately made the switch to a horizontal layout. A choice that many Gnome users disagree with. This extension completely replaces the new Gnome overview with something that resembles the old style.

Dock icons very small, worspaces thumbnails aligned to TOP #77

Hi. First, thak's for this great effort. It saves my life :)

I found two small bugs. Running Fedora 34/Gnome 40.

1) Icons in the dock are really small. Unlike in the default bottom dock, these are somehow mini. I tried to find a way to make them bigger, however with some Gnome sttings I have achieved only their places bigger, not icons themseves. Is there any possiblity to have som icon-size setting?

2) Desktop previews are not vertically aligned to center, but to top. It's quite unpleasure. Any possibility to add option for alignment to the settings?

Thank you.

There are settings for both of these already, you can center the workspace thumbnails by setting "workspace thumbnail position" to 50. There's also an option to set the maximum allowed icon size on the dash, but having low values for left offset and dash maximum height may also shrink the dash icons, so you should try increasing those too.

Thanks for the hints. Worspace thumbnail position did the job. Didn't realized that's it :)

About the dock icons, tried to play around with that, but it hasn't any effect. Seems to me, like actual icons have really huge padding, therefore are tiny. Expecting something like https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/3730/floating-dock/ - that looks pretty normal, but I really can't achieve same result with the settings of Vertical overview.
