Sometimes it take 20+ seconds to start the Repast runtime GUI so it would be good to have a splash screen that shows up immediately and then disappears when the GUI is ready. This would be especially useful for the model installer since the user can run the start_model script and need to wait wondering if the RS runtime GUI is going to appear.
The Eclipse slash screen would be very easy to update as well. We need to create a nice splash image, perhaps using the RS logo and simple lettering.
