RF?: move away from fabric&paramiko to pure ssh/scp invocations

They are stale projects. It seems that number of issues against both is piling up and they are largely maintained.

I would need first to recall what features (besides may be persistence of a session?) were relied upon, but e.g. for an interactive sessions I have some oddities with formatting which are not present if using regular ssh.
