confused menu: domain in both blocked and allowed destinations #88

Adam reports the following:

Visiting http://socialsoftware.weblogsinc.com/2006/05/18/they-might-be-giants-offer-nsa-ringtone/ I found myself in this interesting state [see attachment].

Note that aol.com appears to be both allowed and denied, as does revsci.net

I can't repeat this, but I don't doubt there's a bug somewhere as there have been similar bugs in the past.

For now, this bug will probably wait for more reports and hopefully repeatability before it can be fixed.

Refer to the attached image, 'Ticket #88a.png', when I followed the aforementioned URI.

Weird that both aol.com and revsci.net appear as both blocked and allowed in 'rp-confused-menu.gif'.

I guess it's situations like that when you wished you had "Show Request Log" running, as well as an HTTP sniffer running too, thereby identifying whether aol.com / revsci.net were being blocked or allowed.

Appears to be duplicate of #37

Still happens. Looking forward to #192, which should either fix this directly or consolidate the code sufficiently such that it can be fixed readily.

I realize both this issue and #37 are rather stale but I want to report it seems unrelated to #106: neither F5 nor Ctrl+F5 resolve the entry appearing in both places.

@patricktokeeffe did you try v1.0 beta? RP is discontinued but we're working on this fork which might replace RP one day.

In 1.0 you have "other destinations". I don't know if this helps you… however, checking the request log might give some more information.

patricktokeeffe commented 10 years ago

@myrdd Thanks for pointing out the discontinuation. I did try v1.0 for several months but the new UI was too much extra work.

I will look over the request log. Good idea.

myrdd commented 10 years ago

@patricktokeeffe it would be great if you could point out what you disliked in the new menu, as there's a discussion about it in this issue. thanks!
