(Re)Create Community for repo discussion #1361

I'm a newcomer to Respect/Validation. Haven't even installed it yet. I have common newcomer questions that are not "Issues". The IRC channel was difficult to find, and when I joined it was empty. The Gitter room has one post from last year, asking if anyone is there. Where is the best place for Q&A about this software?

1) I propose an enhancement to the Readme with links to common community resources, whether Gitter, IRC, Discord, a Google Group, or some website.

1) I propose the creation of a GitHub Discussions section here in the repo, to separate Q&A from bug/enhancement/issue threads here.

1) I propose the creation of a FAQ to reduce FAQs in the discussion areas.

In the spirit of FOSS, I'll volunteer to help in a small way, given my as-yet non-existent experience with this software, with updates to the Readme, FAQ, and helping to direct people to resources. Of course I will be installing and using Validation (today). But helping to foster community does not require domain-specific knowledge.

So I'm not asking for someone else to do something that's difficult. I'm asking what WE can do to create or simply point to information resources for anyone like me who stumbles on Validation and then wants to take a closer look.

Thanks!

Thanks! It is hard to keep the community engaged, I'm glad someone is willing to shake things up.

I've enabled Discussions and created the default welcoming message: https://github.com/Respect/Validation/discussions/1366 Feel free to drop in :) I also enjoy the idea of creating a FAQ, but I confess I wouldn't know where to start :)

... and I forgot about this repo and notifications were at the bottom of my list that I just went through. Really sorry about that. LOL. As with other projects I'll roll this one into my normal circle of attention and should get back on the radar with ya. Thanks for your efforts!
