Can you share an example of what you're doing to the rule extensions? Maybe we can find a middle ground that suits your scenario.

I said that most likely we're gonna stick to the final, but I'm open to change my mind.

This is mostly because I don't want to put us in a path that encourage extending rules, so this PR would probably need some extra work on our side (the Validation maintainers) to create docs that advocate against doing it, and leaving it open but as a last resort.
