Asking because your themes seem to work perfectly with EmulationStation Desktop Edition https://es-de.org/

Going through them and seem to be pretty good, but no real screen shots of them can make it somewhat tedious. Nice work though sir, thank you.

Edit: So far though, the newest ones seem to work the best as the older stuff seems to want to put bars on the sides of the video snaps.

Honestly like the Uniflyered theme too.

Been messing around with it, Uniflyered has become my new default theme. Thank you.

Also, if you don't mind, got a request for a simple theme that is meant to just audit stuff more easily. Just use it when you scrape stuff and then go back to the default afterward.

On the home page, its just a vertical list of systems on the left hand side. No pictures, just text with the only color involved just to make it easier to read.

When you go into a system, you get another vertical list on the left hand side with a text box with the system name above the list. The name is in a text box itself so it is the same for every system you enter so multiple versions aren't needed.

On the right hand side:

The top is a box stretching the full length of the display showing the metadata name with enough space to see all but the longest names.

Below the metadata name is another line showing the actual filename of the file being referenced taking up just as much space.

Below that is just a big picture of the front box of the game with maybe a box to the right of that scrolling any metadata that could be looked at to verify.

That would be the entire theme with no actual pictures to the theme itself. It's whole purpose would be one where you can scroll down a list and ensure the games were scraped properly with the metadata name matching the file itself and the box art ensuring its the correct one and you didn't get the box for another language which happens as well.

It would not be a theme you used all the time typically, just one where you wanted to audit your collection as easily as possible.

If you feel up to it, much appreciated, if not, oh well. Thank you for the themes you have done so far though. Look very nice.

Edit: One slight update to the suggestion. Above the scrolling metadata section, have a list of any custom playlists the file is a part of. Never used them myself but i know many do and might help.

Hi

Sadly I do not have the skills to make a windows version. As for the other idea. Maybe if I can find the time. I am also recovering from major knee surgery at the moment so I am unable to do this right now.

Cheers Hursty

No problem on the windows version, just was thinking about it. Did refer your work to the maker of EmulationStation Desktop Edition to look at and maybe he could refer your work to anyone who asked as the default only comes with 2 themes and he hasn't created a theme downloader tool yet himself.

As for the knee surgery, speedy recovery sir. Been through a few on my spine before and it can suck.

Thank you for thinking about the idea. Was just thinking of a way to basically audit your collection from EmulationStation to make sure the auto-scraper chose the right game, compare the title box to make sure the language is correct, and see if you have it in any custom playlists quickly and easily within the front end itself.
