I am using a SSDS3 and an OSSC. The behavior seems strange even given that the OSSC can take time to sync to a different graphics mode.
Start up the game and continue past everything until you are a character scrolling around in an RPG overworld. If you stop moving or start moving, the screen goes blank for a second and the audio sometimes stops.
