Feature request: More information on the status of the development #91

I'm always frustrated when I don't know when the project is going to be finished and how many steps are left. Milestones are not updated consistently. I thought the point of showing this repository to the public is to show the status of the on-going development.

Describe the solution you'd like A clear and concise description of what you want to happen.

Take some time out of your day to update some of the milestones, to at least show the estimate percentage of work being done in each of them. Currently they are showing 0%. Add more milestones if there is actually more work to be done.

Describe alternatives you've considered A clear and concise description of any alternative solutions or features you've considered.

An alternative is to use other forms of communication to give an update on the progress of the development. You don't need to give specific ETAs. You can respond in the comments to this issue.

There is a lot of people monitoring the development on a daily basis, but as the development of a blockchain is very complex, it is hard for outsiders to estimate the actual progress of the project from the raw code.

It's great to see something constructive coming from the community here, and yeah, it would be awesome if the devs could at least link commits to specific tickets from time to time. That would definitely make it easier for us to keep track of the project's progress. Given the current state of community mental health it's really not too much to ask for

I agree with the OP. We would like to be more informed on the development of this software as fellow enthusiasts of data sovereignty and programming in general.

Seriously how is asking to provide a 60 second update too much for this team? One 60 second update to cover a year’s worth of “work”. A monkey could do this.

Is it because you are so embarrassingly behind schedule? Are you too ashamed that it’s been 4 years of development and there is still no main net in sight?

I will not stop until you update the community you abandoned.
