A very quick fix for VKB EVO with star citizen (and some other small fixes to get the build.py to work). Not thorough, but enough to get it functional.

Sorry for the build.py I have a few local changes not yet pushed! Glad you got it working through.

@dhartford could you revert the build.py change, as this is fixed in upstream? Then probably happy for this to merge, the change for double spaces seems ok for now, really this is inherently an issue with the lax responsibility of device management/naming in the overall app.
