I think the setting you want is:
EnableBulletAutocompletion
It's disabled by default. I find this gets in my way a lot more than it helps once you're done with the list you have to backtrack and remove it.
IAC, it's configurable. You have to reload the document for the change to take.
My man, thank you! I didn't even think to search for "bullet" - that's just what I needed. A million blessings upon you.
If you're open to another feature/suggestion, an idea for fixing that "backtrack" issue you mention is to make it so that hitting the Enter key on a dangling bullet/list item just removes it. So:
At least, that is the default behaviour of the other Markdown tools I've recently used (VSCode, QOwnNotes, Markor, Zettel, etc).
When I type a list item, and then hit enter, I normally expect the next line to automatically continue with that list by auto-filling the asterisk, dash, or numeral based on the previous item - exactly the way this very comment field does, actually. But this isn't happening for me in MM for some reason. I looked throughout the settings, the json, and the docs, and didn't see anything that looked like an associated option for this. Am I missing something obvious?
I just finally made the upgrade from MM v1 to MM v3.4.4, and I could have sworn this was a feature in 1.x, but I'm past the point of being able to test that now. In any case, it's a function that I personally need in my process due to working with a keyboard with no numpad. I'm assuming this is either a bug, or I'm just missing some very obvious setting?
Thanks!
