https://open-vsx.org/ is an open version of the proprietary microsoft vscode registry. The opensource version of code ships with this registry. Could you perhaps publish this extension there too?

Sure thing, you can expect this in the upcoming release for 0.0.14 (ETA ~ 3 days), I'll close this issue once the tag is released.
