Originally, during RiiTag's early development, game covers were painted before the overlay, underneath it.
During that time many of the overlays were designed. At some point, game covers were changed to be painted above the overlay, and this was then carried over to RiiTag-Next.
This is noticeable in the Wii Menu overlay, where the game covers were originally intended to be underneath the overlay's stylish shadows and overlay text, they are instead above them.
