Hi,
Same problem for me on DM800SE : green screen. The error message says that file
"/hdd/valerie/sync.xml" is missing. I also cannot connect via the web interface
on default port "8888" (works on port 80 to access the DM web interface). In
fact it looks like many files are missing under "/hdd/valerie/" folder.
I tried with "project-valerie_rev1221_mipsel_oe16.ipk" and two other releases.

Hi joseramosconde,
well - according to the Log PVMC tries to download the missing files. That's
the default behaviour, but this download fails for some reason:
Plugins.Extensions.ProjectValerie.DMC_Plugins.DMC_SyncExtras.ConfigCheck
sync.xml and valerie.conf - Missing -> Downloading
Plugins.Extensions.ProjectValerie.DMC_Plugins.DMC_SyncExtras.WebGrabberFile
download failed. Ex: <urlopen error [Errno -3] Temporary failure in name
resolution>
=> any ideas from your side, why the name resolution doesn't work? PVMC
definitely needs an active internet connection (not only for downloading the
missing config files, but also later on for syncin' your video collection!).

Hi,
Thank you very much for the prompt answer. So the reason why it's failing is
because my box isn't connected to the internet. I don't need the syncing
because I get movies information using Xbne Nfo Editor (I like to have the
total control and be sure the correct information is retrieved). And in the
past, I used your fantastic software for a while and it worked like a charm
with my nfo files and covers.
I will need to find a way to connect once to the internet and hope it will then
work without an active connexion if I don't need the sync feature.
Thanks again a good weekend.

Hi again,
ahhh - OK... So well... I'm not quite sure about the check for updates - you
may need to disable that stuff, too in order to get no delay when selecting
PVMC from the main menu.
Additionally it might be also OK to manually copy the files from our source
code repository:
http://code.google.com/p/project-valerie/source/browse/#svn%2Ftrunk%2Fdefault
I guess you just need the files starting from path.* - but to be 100% sure the
best way would be to just connect your box temporary to the internet...
HTH & have a nice week-end, too!
Cheers, Erik

Hi,
I connected the box to the internet and it worked. Now, entering Valerie or
settings is much faster (no timeouts) and I can connect the web interface.
Thanks :-)
I'm sure you know but once it is disconnected from the internet, web interface
doesn't work any longer (I don't understand why... anyway).
I didn't find yet where to set path to my movies share on my nas which this one
:
path : \\diskstation\videos\movies\movie1
where "videos" is the share (cifs mounted) and "movie1" is a subfolder holding
the movie, it's cover and nfo file.
I found in the past so I will.
Thank you again.

Since the original issue was different from Jose's problem comment's #2 - #7
don't deal with the original issue => hence we still have the problem that PVMC
crashes in some cases after installation with
File "/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Screens/Screen.py", line 92, in execBegin
self.active_components.append(val)
AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'append'
Issue #503 may be a dupe but needs to be verified...
=> changing back to "new"...
