Set up API access through Spoonacular #26

Sandra has requested api access as a school project.

Spoonacular API usage requirements

  1. Must make API Key hidden when posting on GitHub
  2. Credit the original source
  3. If asked by original source to remove from our site, we must let Spoonacular know it should be removed from their site, as well.
  4. Cannot use data provided by spoonacular to create a site providing the same experience as spoonacular.
  5. Cannot act like our site is sponsored by spoonacular
  6. Can’t use logos or brands to promote site without prior authorization
  7. Must provide backlink to their food API page
  8. May not scrape the spoonacular API
  9. Cannot copy or store information it provides
  10. With prior written permission from spoonacular, you may cache user-requested data to improve performance for a maximum of 1 hour. Must delete after 1 hour.
  11. Cannot resell data received via spoonacular API

By using the Spoonacular API we agree

  1. To assume all responsibility and risk of use of the spoonacular API
  2. To display any and all disclaimers regarding potential inaccuracies pertaining to allergies, estimated costs, nutritional info, etc.
  3. Spoonacular may use our logo and company name as a professional reference/use case. Can prevent by letting them know in written form.
