Have a Comfast Model CF-924AC V2 (1300Mbps capable, dual-band and 2 high-gain antennas) bought at affordable price off Amazon.

The issue that even in forced usb 3.0 mode (per the readme) and even after reboot, I am limited to a max of 866Mbps. The Router is Linksys WRT3200ACM running OpenWRT , and Macbook pro is connected to same router at 1300Mbps, but the server with the USB Wifi mentioned , which is sitting right by the router and closer to it than the Macbook, is only getting max 866Mbps up/down link according to the status page of the associations list in OpenWRT.

afaiu, 866Mbps is 2x2 MIMO, while 1300Mbps is 3x3 MIMO.

what gives?

I realized after writing this that the advertisement is 1300Mbps wireless speeds (400Mpbs on the 2.4GHz band and 867Mbps on the 5GHz band)
