Ripme lost my history #804

Open samt108 opened 6 years ago

So rip me just lost my history file. No warning, nothing. The file is just blank.

1) Is there a way to prevent this in the future? 2) Is there some way for rip me to automatically backup every time it rips? 3) I still have the url file; is there anyway to reverse engineer my history?

Keep a backup of your history file

Not at the moment but it could be added at some point

I still have the url file; is there anyway to reverse engineer my history?

Not as far as I know

OK, well consider this a feature request for ripme to save your history every time you rip and save, I dunno, up to 3 files at a time?

Happened again v.1.7.67 How to re import lost history if I have a save of the history.json? It's not picking up URL when I put the backup in the same folder.

How to re import lost history if I have a save of the history.json?

Close ripme if it's open, delete history.json and copy over your backuped history.json

Figurer out why it didn't react when I copied the backup, location of history.json changed recently to %appdata%/ripme/ ...

This just happened to me again. (I actually found this thread by searching for my issue, I forgot it had happened to me.)

I'd like to 1)reiterate that this is an issue and 2) propose a model for solution:

Chrome not only keeps current tabs, but also last session. How hard would it be to implement something similar? I don't want to manually save my history every time. That's why I have ripme in the first place, to avoid doing manual work.
