Node.js vs Go - An unopinionated comparison #10

There's a lot of chatter recently on Node vs Go, kicked off through for example a blog post from the most prolific node.js author, @visionmedia: Farewell Node.js. A lot of people are unsure what to do know...is Go simply better? Is that just TJ's preference? Is Go only better at some things? How should I pick between the two?

Instead of giving an answer, I want to provide the theory and examples through which every one should be able to decide - forever or on a project base - which programming environment to choose.

Just so you know, I'm neither fully a Node nor fully a Go guy. My aim is not to express any preference at all, but make this pure facts, as fair as possible.

Look forward to side by side comparisons of solutions to common problems in both languages, background knowledge about the higher concepts and a rough overview over the available tooling.

Of course, if you want an opinion, I'm available to share my views after the talk :)
