Consistent crashes on the Detune CHII slider #7

Open wellsoliver opened 2 years ago

wellsoliver commented 2 years ago

Any time I adjust this physical slider on the synth, Live (11.2.5) crashes w/ the plugin loaded on the audio channel (with no other plugin). DDRM Rev 2.0 MK1 firmware 1.5.

Using the virtual app slider seems to do nothing. Haven't seen this with any other slider.

Hi @wellsoliver, Please try the version here https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4y5r4bpl6rr25zk/AAB1SLz6oOj_qHjLGhKCSnm-a?dl=0 and let me know if it still crashes.

Thanks!

So, it works in that it does not crash, but the UI slider is not responding to changes to the physical detune slider. Also, slightly different environment since this is the standalone app and I was (and am generally) using it as a DAW plugin. Mac OS 12.6, I forgot to mention. But yeah, no crashing though.

Hi, does however the detune parameter have an effect when set through the UI? Maybe there's a bug in DDRM firmware and detune sends/receives MIDI in different numbers. Let me know,

eltobosolo commented 1 year ago

This is an issue with both detune and global sustain. With the latest build:

ditto @eltobosolo -- I have a MK1, so no global sustain, but.

hi @eltobosolo @wellsoliver I'll make sure that I'm using the right CCs and that this is not a bug in DDRM's firmware then.

Hi, first thanks a lot for the update, it stopped making my APC40 crash which was the main problem.

I still have some problems that I thought I'd mention : (with the DD Mk2)

Square and saw tooth wave On/Off for channel I seem to only work sometimes, and when it does it is inverted compare to the physical position of it on the machine. (On=Off and Off=On)

Saw tooth wave On/Off for channel II on the machine seems to control both Square and saw tooth wave On/Off on the plugin. It also is inverted compare to the physical position of it on the machine and only work sometimes.

“Detune CHII” doesn’t work

“Sustain long” and Sustain ch. selector don’t work.

Thanks for your work, the plugin is a really cool complement of the DD !

Hi all,

I can confirm that there are no more crashes with version 1.2.1.2 – but there are two remaining bugs. Moving hardware sliders is not mirrored by the software and moving software sliders doesn’t effect DD because of MIDI CC mismatches:

It would be so wonderful if these could be fixed to make this awesome software perfect.

P. S.: There's an additional issue with the Sustain Mode Switch (below Sustain Time slider): J. F. Sebastian sends CC 9 - and DD doesn’t mirror that. But DD does not send any CC here if operating that switch on the hardware, so that’s probably a firmware issue.

Hi,

I'm currently working on a major refactoring/unification of all Black Corp editors so I will not further develop them individually. But I can make a build for you and maybe eventually a new release if you confirm that changes work as expected. Are you using standalone or plugin versions? macOS/windows?

norjad commented 6 months ago

Hi Freredic,

thanks for taking the time! I'm on macOS. I'm using both versions, but more often standalone, because the plugin version requires to channels in Ableton. I would be happy to test a new build.

P. S.: Looking forward to the outcome of the unification of all BC editors. I hope this will also include a unification of their MIDI implementations – like finally delivering SysEx support for DD.
