Can do...
Do you want these layers to appear twice (once with only valid showing) and other with both showing up?
Before I do layer files and new nodes... @philipbaileynar is this what you had in mind? One for type (and only show what we used):
Another for what conveying results of validation?
Love it! Perfect.
I just didn't want someone uninformed criticising the XS because some are at silly angles.
What you have done makes it much clearer!
Thanks
Okay... so I go from 2 to 4. Easy

Super minor tweak to topo project symbology that might be helpful...
Can you please add a single symbology layer for use by both wetted and bankfull cross sections with two classes:
IsValid = 0
represents poorly aligned cross sections, or cross sections that are anchored to a side channel but traverse the mainstem etc. Also cross sections that exceed 4 standard deviations of the average width of the channel. These "invalid" cross sections are omitted from certain CHaMP channel metrics.IsValid <> 0
represents good cross sections that are properly aligned. These are used in CHaMP metrics.Basically we used to symbolize the former in light grey so they are just about visible if you look carefully. The latter we symbolize in bold colour.
Again, it's a minor detail but it does allay concerns that some of the cross sections are at weird angles or span unrepresentative sections of the channel. The two class symbology reassures people that the wonky XS are ignored in calculations.
