Lets make BRAT data capture snapshot of dam activity for Sagehen #38

There is a ton of data in this Beier and Barrett (1989) from Kristen for Sagehen. We should turn this into an opportunity to test the concept of a 'desktop' data capture event (#31) to translate these data into point-base feature classes from which we can run subsequent analyses.

Lets use this information too from Kristen

Attached is a kmz file with ideas for beaver validation locations near Sagehen. I identified 250-600 m reaches of stream that are within walking distance of the field station where we are staying. I would suggest we stay near the field station. The one exception are two reaches downstream of the highway. We can drive and park nearby if we want to visit those sites. There is a nice trail that parallels the river downstream. I put notes in the location names to indicate why these reaches might work well. There are few good viewpoints to see 300 m reaches unfortunately. Also attached are some references to share with participants, if they are interested, about the history of beaver research at Sagehen.

We could also try to incorporate these beaver presence data from American Rivers Score Card data [(https://usu.app.box.com/folder/49401259386)] Note this is NOT dam location data so it might be challenges to use these data.

@wally-mac, once @webernick79 finishes #32, in Survey123, lets have you and a technician do this together to make it something we have populated. Then work with @bangen and @banderson1618 to ingest this into the Riverscapes project structure... e.g. ...\Inputs\DataCapture\Dams\Dam_001 and think about the raw input (i.e. just a shapefile with what fields)? and the downstream outputs (e.g. populated on a newtwork as described #14, but its own shapefile).

Once we do this all manually, we can open an Enhancement ticket for the generalization of sucking this in from a #32 and processing it as input and using in BRAT Riverscapes project.

@wally-mac lets assign this to someone for this Fall. We can talk about what's an appropriate milestone. This fell by wayside. It was on Sara's list, but I unassigned it...

Sounds good.

Closing. Kristen carried out desktop dam survey for several basins (note this was not exhaustive across entire project area). Also included field observed locations provided by Helen. As far as I know, data from Beier and Barrett (1989) was not included.
