battery capacity value is not saved if entered using the user friendly config 
tab.

strange, I clicked (configuration),(setup tab), then the battery settings and 
entered capacity  - (4000) - clicked close on the window (there is no "save" or 
"apply") and the BATT_CAPACITY variable was still at the default 1720  or so.

ive found the issue. like you said, if you close it right away it doesn save. 
if you flick to another tab, and then close tt does save. this will be fixed in 
next release
